This 5 years project for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will focus on:
1- Detecting threats early though strengthening laboratory systems to detect, differentiate, and characterize pathogens, real-time biosurveillance and diagnostics carried out in accredited laboratories
2- Preventing avoidable epidemics by ensuring systems, policies and procedures are in place to monitor and slow antimicrobial resistance
The project intends to strength/build laboratory systems, strength the public health workforce, to build capacities to prevent, detect, respond, and control infectious disease outbreaks and mitigate other health threats.
