IQLS has been contracted by the African Society for Laboratory Medicine (ASLM)  to conduct the initial biosafety and biosecurity (BS&S) assessments in Burkina Faso in line with the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) requirements, as well as to develop clear roadmaps to help define the way forward to meet GHSA requirements for the national laboratory system, and to assist with overall diagnostic improvments for GHSA priority diseases.

Nature of services:

-Identify laboratories and capacities in BS&S

-Develop a roadmap for improving BS&S in national and sub national facilities and implement certain BS&S improvment measures, as possible

-Develop a Biosafety guideline

-Develop a draft regulation on biosecurity

-Determine needs for a national specimen bank for priority pathogens

-Improve diagnostic testing capacities for priority diseases at selected national sites, including providing guidance for local media production as possible

-Design system for connecting laboratory information and epidemiological surveillance systems

-Develop improvments plan for laboratory stock management and procurement

-Train laboratory staff on WHONET

-Support the VHF laboratory in Muraz to subscribe EQA program for arbovirus
