Since August 2024, IQLS has been leading a project aimed at strengthening laboratory capacity in Madagascar to better identify epidemic situations and other health emergencies across animal, human, and environmental sectors, through technical evaluation.

To accomplish this, IQLS brought together 6 teams, each composed of a laboratory expert and an infrastructure expert, to assess 24 laboratories across Madagascar. This work, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of Madagascar Project Coordination Unit (UCP), Pandemic Preparedness and Basic Health Services Delivery Project (PPSB), aims to support the authorities in developing a comprehensive and robust investment and rehabilitation plan.

The plan will lay a foundation to help shape a stronger, more resilient health infrastructure able to better serve the needs of the Malagasy population.
