As part of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) initiative, in consortium with Epiconcept company: Epidemiology – e-Health – Data science and collaborating with European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and DG Santé, IQLS team recently joined a One Health country visit to North Macedonia to assess AMR challenges and support the development of tailored roadmaps for human health, animal health, food safety, and the environment.

This overall project aims to contribute to the advancement of a One Health approach against antimicrobial resistance (AMR) to secure political commitment for national interventions and promote the exchange of best practices between participating countries in the Western Balkans, by identifying gaps in current national AMR strategies and action plans, developing country-specific roadmaps, supporting the development of electronic surveillance of AMR and raising awareness campaign. Together, we are working towards stronger surveillance, better infection prevention, and responsible antimicrobial use—essential steps in combating AMR.
