The objectives of the training week were:

  • Present all ISO standards which can be used in and for laboratories
  • Provide details on the most common ISO standards, namely 9001, 15189 and 17025
  • Provide several important documents translated into Russian, such as checklists and summaries
  • Be able to discuss these different standards with foreign experts
  • Develop a roadmap for ISO15189 accreditation
  • Have a closer look on the different certification and accreditation schemes available in Georgia and Armenia

Workshop:

  • Participation of 20 attendees
  • Hosted at the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, Tbilisi, Georgia
  • Occured between January 27th – 31st 2014
  • 5 days of training

Different attendees:

  • 10 persons from Armenia
  • 10 persons from Georgia (8 from Tbilis; 1 from Kutaisi and 1 from Batumi)
  • Several observers (from CDC, CARD Armenia, CH2MILL Armenia and IQLS)

With different backgrounds:

  • Human lab specialist
  • Food, Water, Veterinarian lab specialist
  • Officer at MoH level
  • Officer in charge of QA and healthcare recognition
