With support from The Global Fund, IQLS was selected to carry out a data management workflow assessment in Gabon and to install iqLIS, a free LIMS developed in-house by IQLS, in 10 laboratories in Gabon. Two servers were installed in Libreville and an IT training for the maintenance of the servers and the application was conducted in all laboratories.

This project led to several impactful updates of the existing application, mainly providing new offline capacities, thus leading to an upgrade of the application to iqLIS2. Other important software updates include work with 2 APIs: front and back end, making future connectivity very easy, new set of information collected on the patients, improved financial management, inclusion of 5 new reports (vertical programs, workflow, TAT), improved DHIS2 connectivity, update of parameters and settings, and the provision of access to iqLIS for clinicians, allowing them to see the results of their own prescriptions on their computer or mobile phone.

By installing iqLIS in Gabon, the goal is to digitalize and simplify laboratory data management, and allow central and vertical programs to obtain aggregated, anonymous health data to produce valuable statistics. The software will provide real-time health data to the decision makers, thus improving response and detection of public health threats.

Some additional features:
• Full interconnectivity with LabCompanion
• Development of a sampling management system
• Updated DHIS2 connectivity
