Julius holds an honours degree in Medical Laboratory Science from the University of Zimbabwe, and a Master of Business Administration from the Regent Business School of South Africa. He was recognized as an under 40 Honoree by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) for outstanding work supporting the Population Based HIV Impact Assessment (PHIA) surveys in 8 countries in Africa.

Prior to joining IQLS he worked with University of Maryland Baltimore, Nigeria as a Senior Laboratory Advisor supporting one of the biggest health surveys in world targeting to reach over 200000 participants. Previously to this appointment he was a Regional Laboratory Advisor and Laboratory Manager with ICAP in South Africa and Zimbabwe respectively, overseeing implementation of the PHIA surveys.

Prior to that he worked as a Laboratory Advisor at University Research Company LLc in Swaziland, supporting laboratory strengthening activities that comprised of Quality Management Systems, Sample transportation, LIMS, Tuberculosis and HIV activities. In this role he supported development of laboratory strategic plans, expansion of TB external Quality Assurance program for the Swaziland TB Lab network, implementation of HIV Quality assurance for all HIV testing sites in the country.
Julius is a fan of soccer, both as a player and spectator, and he has even been a soccer coach. He is also eager to learn to play at least one musical instrument.
