Dr. Armel M. Sanou is an Influenza Laboratory Specialist joining IQLS as a consultant for CDC Influenza activities in Gabon, Guinea and Mauritania. He has a doctoral degree in Pharmacy, a Master’s degree in Applied Biology with a virology option and a PhD in Clinical Virology. During his training, his work focused on influenza and other respiratory viruses, and since 2011 he is a member of the National Influenza Laboratory (NIL) in Burkina Faso.
During his career at NIL, he has gained considerable experience in project coordination and capacity building. Dr. Sanou has significant expertise in the management of laboratories using standard and advanced diagnostic techniques for virus characterisation. He has extensive experience in training laboratory personnel in good laboratory practices and laboratory diagnosis of infectious diseases.
