Dr. André COULIBALY is a full-time National Laboratory Specialist located in the IQLS Africa office in Burkina Faso. He is in charge of implementing the GLLP program in Burkina Faso and Togo; providing support for the National Laboratory Directorate and National Public Health Institute to implement their national strategic plans and policies, planning, supervision; creating and/or strengthening National EQA programs; implementing new priority pathogen testing systems; and providing project management linked to laboratory activities, such as for feasibility surveys, proposal writing, strategy, monitoring and evaluation.
André is a Medical Doctor and Medical Laboratories Specialist with a strong background in Hematology, Parasitology, Bacteriology, Biochemistry, Serology and Immunology. He has extensive experience in the management of public health programs as well as providing support for laboratory network strengthening, and especially for quality management and EQA quality programs.
He worked with Fondation Mérieux in Guinea as Coordinator for the Labogui project, which aims to enhance the capacity of 39 public hospital laboratories, and also has experience as the Chief of Hematology and Biochemistry Laboratory at the National Malaria Center in Burkina Faso.
Before that, André completed biomedical studies at the University of Ouagadougou and internships at national laboratories. He also previously worked in the health field in Burkina Faso, as a Physician and as the first Manager of the district.
