In collaboration with CDC GHSA/GLLP program, five outbreak simulation exercises have been developed and documented by IQLS, in order to allow a group of specialists from different countries to review their organization when such outbreaks occur.
In July 2019, Ghana and Liberia were selected and are actively engaged in outbreak preparedness in IQLS training Hub.
One simulation per day over 4 days were carried out (2 simulations on respiratory pathogens on day 2). The last day did allow participants to list strengths and weaknesses, before drafting a 6-9 months plan of action for implementation of remedial action. IQLS will help both countries through full-time on-site presence and targeted follow-up visits.
Next workshop at Training Hub will occur late 2019.
