The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) provides international technical assistance in support of a number of US government agency programs that aim at improving surveillance capability. CDC works with foreign government Ministries of Health and Agriculture to strengthen their existing national veterinary and public health laboratory systems infrastructure and capability in order to ensure reliability, timeliness and usefulness of laboratory data and reporting for detection, surveillance and response.

The objectives of the project are to conduct assessments, a series of training workshops, consultations and mentoring activities on assessed and identified gaps in laboratory quality management systems in India to support Indian laboratories and CDC’s global health mission and to provide targeted technical assistance.
